[Law Schools: All] [Graduation Year: All]

I attended Law Preview at Northwestern this past summer in Chicago. I am currently attending Indiana University School of Law--Indianapolis. I followed the schedule you laid out for me and I earned a 3.85 GPA after my first semester. Following the study plan you laid out greatly contributed to my success. Two weeks ago I got an interview with Barnes and Thornburg LLP, one of the biggest firms in Indianapolis, and I received notification today that I am being offered one of six summer clerkships being offered to 1ls this year! I just wanted to thank you and your program for helping me to set out a strategic plan for doing well in law school. I am still following the schedule, and I hope to do just as well this semester, if not better. By the way, Law Books for Less is great too. Thanks again!

—David P., Indiana University School of Law—Bloomington, Class of 2008

Law Preview gave me the advantage of knowing what to expect and how to prepare during the first year of Law School. Additionally it gave me confidence that I knew what I was doing so I did not waste energy worrying or trying to reinvent the wheel. My first year grades allowed me to easily transfer to Loyola - Chicago. I would recommend the program to anyone, especially if you have been out of school for 3-4 years like I had.

(transferred to Loyola University Chicago School of Law)

They do not rank us until second semester, but based on last year's numbers, I would be just outside top 5% (my GPA is 3.76, the GPA for top 5% was 3.77). Law Preview helped me realize that I would have to put in a lot more time and be extremely serious about my law school studies. Even though it was a struggle sometimes to stay at the library for 10-12 hours, it really paid off in the end.

—Anonymous, Indiana University School of Law—Bloomington, Class of 2011

Law Preview was critical in giving me the strategic advantages that allowed me to excel during the 1L year. Many of my colleagues did not realize the correct pacing and preparation schedule until it was far too late. I appreciated Don's realistic and blunt advice about the difficulties you will face during the first year. Law school is about hard work and proper preparation, and Law Preview made this unambiguously clear through the Strategies for Academic Success sessions, as well as the experience of preparing for the mini-courses at Law Preview. . . . Last, and maybe most important, I left Law Preview excited to start school. When the year began I was able to step through the doors with the confidence of having an explicit and detailed plan about what was going to happen. Carrying through with the Law Preview schedule allowed me to go into exams confident, relatively stress-free, and somewhat rested. While this it was not a particularly "fun" experience to go through finals, I know that my experience was far better than most. [Ranked top 1% after first year].

—Anonymous, Indiana University School of Law—Bloomington, Class of 2011

Law Preview really helped me understand the commitment law school requires. I went in to law school ready to work, and it paid off. I have just been invited to join law review based on my class ranking [12 out of 313]. My week at Law Preview was truly worth it, and I wold recommend it to all incoming law students.

—Anonymous, Indiana University School of Law—Indianapolis, Class of 2009

Law Preview provided me with the valuable insight to the demands of the first semester of law school. Also, one of the cases covered during the program turned out to be the same one I got called on to address during my day on the 'hot seat.' Because of my previous exposure, I was able to make it through the questioning and pressure of being called on to discuss a case with the professor. I would strongly recommend the program to anyone entering into their first year of law school!

—Anonymous, John Marshall Law School - Atlanta, Class of 2012

Law Preview was definitely helpful to me in the first year, especially the first semester. I got really good grades after the first semester and was ranked in the top 10% of my class. After the first year, I am now ranked in the top 25% of my class. I did not do bad the second semester, I just did not do as good as the first semester.

—Andy Y., John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2008

Law Preview helped me tremendously. Law Preview gave me a great amount of confidence, a necessity in law school. I did not fear school, but embraced it. Law Preview tools and tips that helped me do as well as I did.

—Jacob A., John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2008

It was so important that I had my outlines done when the reading period before exams took place. I spent absolutely NO TIME learning anything new, since I followed the advice of Law Preview and attended all my classes and briefed all my cases and had my outlines done. What I did spend time doing was learning how to take the particular exams that the professors were going to give. I read through my outlines once or twice, and spent a little time focusing on problem areas, but for the most part I spent my time doing practice exams. I ended up with two A's an A- and a B+ in my four classes.

—Andy Y., John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2008

I knew that my LSAT score of 153 was not indicative of my potential in law school and Law Preview helped me reach that potential. Law Preview opened my eyes to the specific challenges I would face in law school and gave me expert advice on how to handle them. I earned the highest grade in my Torts class and made the Dean's List my first semester. This success helped me gain a summer internship with a United States District Court Judge. Law Preview certainly gave me an advantage over the rest of my classmates because I knew how to study efficiently and effectively before I started school.

—Anonymous, John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2008

I'm ranked #1 in my class and I recommend Law Preview to anyone entering their first year of law school -- especially if, like me, you have been out of school for a few years. Law Preview helped me approach my first year of law school with confidence. Unlike the rest of my class, I knew what law school classes were like, and more importantly, I knew what professor's expected on exams. Law school requires a completely different type of studying than what I expected from my undergraduate days. As a part-time night student, there is no way I could have spent the time to figure out the nuances of law school without Law Preview, which spells it all out for you. . . . Further, the professor's who teach the Law Preview classes are excellent. In one week Law Preview teaches the basics of all the standard first year classes. And trust me, the overview you will have makes studying them a lot easier in the school year. My performance is a living testimonial to Law Preview's effectiveness. In my first year, I received grades of A or A+ in every subject, except my first semester writing course and I missed the Law Preview session on that!

—K.S., John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2006

You guys are the best! Here is an update for you: After first semester, my GPA is 3.67, and I am ranked #17 out of 314 (top 5.5%) at John Marshall Law School in Chicago. Not only that, but my Torts professor selected one of my finals essays to put on file in the school library (anonymously, of course) as an example of a good student answer. So I'm officially a published writer, if only anonymously! Your class here last summer was one of the reasons for my success. Thanks a million!

—Bonny B., John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2006

After first semester in law school I had a 3.6 GPA. I am so glad I took the Law Preview Course. I was ahead of everyone in my class right from the get go. . . .

—Tony L., John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2004

Law Preview paved the way for my success in law school. I earned a spot on Law Review, and I clerked for a Federal District Court Judge my 1L summer. Now that I have finished fall recruiting and have accepted an offer to work for a firm next summer, I realize even more how crucial my success was durning the first year. Thanks Law Preview!

—William E., John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2008

Law Preview emphasized the importance of self-discipline, and I followed the study schedule religiously.

—Sommer D., John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2009

From the very start of the course, Law Preview allayed the fears and anxiety I had about entering my first year of law school. Even on my first day of classes I recognized the advantage I had gained over my classmates who had not attended Law Preview. The substantive course overviews gave me enough understanding of my first year courses that I was able to immediately participate in class discussions and understand the materials my professors introduced. (Not to mention the opportunity Law Preview afforded me to interact with some of the best professors in their respective fields.) The most influential parts of my Law Preview experience were the portions of the course on case briefing, course outlines, exam taking, and other techniques for success in law school. Without that information I would have spent weeks (like many of my classmates) attempting to develop those skills instead of focusing on the important substantive materials. Law Preview delivers everything it promises. After my first year of school I graded onto Law Review, I have the option to participate in any of the honors councils at my school, and I recieved a research assistantship with one of my professors. I genuinely believe that Law Preview is one of the biggest reasons I am in the position I am today and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone preparing for their first year of law school.

—Benjamin R., John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2009

Law Preview emphasized the need for self-discipline. I followed the study schedule, and I am ranked #19 in my class of 321.

—Anonymous, John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2009

It gave me a plan of attack on the first year of law school and because I had the plan of attack on the first day of school I had a great deal of confidence walking into each class. My confidence only became stronger each day as I incorporated what I learned from Law Preview with my way of learning.

—Anonymous, John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2009

Law Preview gave me insight into the what was going to happen during my first year. I knew what to expect when I got to school, so I was not nervous or lost about what was going on around me, as most of the other 1L's were. I was able to get ahead and stay ahead because of the suggested calendar and study advice that I got from Law Preview. The program definitely gave me the tools I needed to succeed in law school.

—Karl M., John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2009

Law Preview gave an invaluable introduction to the substantive law of all my 1L courses. I referenced my notes from that week multiple times throughout the semester. I could approach many of the more complex concepts with confidence because I had seen them before, while many of my peers were reeling. Law school is enough of a baptism by fire anyway. Law Preview gave me a leg up from the first day.
