[Law Schools: All]
[Graduation Year: All]

The dust has finally settled. After a month of waiting and a week of pushed back releases, grades are out. I did very well, and I wanted to write to thank you and the program's professors for getting me started on the right track. All in all I received A's in both Property and Contracts, and A-'s in Civ Pro and Torts. I was so happy, I was useless the rest of the day. . . . Thanks again, and best wishes for the program this upcoming summer.

Thanks Law Preview: I ended up with a GPA of 3.5 my first semester! More than anything, what I learned in the course helped me manage my law school stress levels, especially near the end of the semester, when I was able to design a realistic and effective strategy to prepare for my exams. What I've found is that if there is one 'secret' to law school, it's working hard and taking advantage of every small edge that you can create for yourself, and Law Preview helped me get a confident head-start on my courses. My advice to incoming first-years: read Law School Confidential and take Law Preview.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you. This course far exceeded my expectations by demystifying the law school experience and providing me with the edge I will need to succeed. I know I will perform better this Fall becuase I participated in your program.

Law Preview has given me a particular type of confidence that goes beyond having a great undergraduate preparation or a high LSAT score. . . . Thanks for helping me start the first year of law school running, instead of crawling.

Most students come to law school with no clue of what to expect, or what they've gotten themselves into. As a result, many spend the first month or so learning not only the legal subjects they came ready to learn, but also an entire new set of study methods. The value of Law Preview is presenting all the study tools and methods before you are expected to use them, giving students the opportunity to get used to them and learn how best to use them to their advantage. I can't tell you how thankful I was (not to mention how much time I saved) that I knew how to brief before coming to law school! Don't expect to learn all of 1L year during the program. That's both not the point and impossible. But when you see subjects in class (this is especially true for property interests) the mystery is gone and you can get right down to understanding it, instead of spending precious time just trying to wrap your brain around it. I'm well above the median in my class and very confident going into 2L on-campus recruiting. I owe that in part to you, Don. A million thanks!!

Law Preview gave me confidence as I entered my first semester of law school. I attempted to adhere to the recommended reading/outlining schedule, as well as follow the recommended briefing techniques. All in all, I am satisfied with the Law Preview experience.

My school does not rank students, so I don't know my percentile. But I am very pleased with my grades--almost all As. I know that Law Preview was particularly helpful in getting me into the right mindset from the very beginning. I already had a framework for each course, and it made it easier for me to see the big picture from day 1. This is where I feel I excelled past my classmates--my ability to understand the material thematically. I did not spend my first weeks struggling over minute, unnecessary details, or teaching myself the components of a brief, as others did.

Before starting law school I had no idea what a case brief was or what to expect in law school. After taking the Law Preview course all of my anxieties were gone and I was confident that I could excel in law school. The recommended reading and outlining schedule helped me organize my time (which is one of the hardest things to master during your 1L year) and the e-mail reminders throughout the year gave me the guidance I needed to put my best foot forward in law school. Furthermore, the hornbooks I received from the program helped me master my 1L classes. My high grades from 1L year were undoubtedly influenced by my experience in the Law Preview course and I would definitely recommend that prospective law students take this course.

I took Law Preview in Philly last summer and the exam strategy class in DC last fall. I just had to write to say thank you again. I got a 3.71 my first semester and wow has it paid off. I was approached by one of my professor's a few weeks ago and was asked if I would be interested in a summer research assistant position. The professor had heard of me from a few of my professors last semester. She looked over my resume and grades and hired me for the summer to do research on a law review article and book she is writing. Then, as if things weren't going well enough, the law school awarded me a retroactive scholarship in the amount of $10,000 a year based on my first semester achievements. They don't want me to transfer I guess. I have recommended the program to all of my undergraduate friends who are planning to go to law school next year. I also told them that the exam strategy course is perfect for going into exams and it is offered at the perfect time. The program has definitely paid for itself.

Hi Don, I just wanted to let you know we got our first semester grades . . . and my GPA is a 3.85! Law Preview gave me a lot of the study skills I needed to succeed long before any one else in school figured it out. If I can do that well . . . anyone can. You just have to know how to go about it, and that's where Law Preview comes in. Thanks for getting me off to a great start.

Law Preview provided big-picture frameworks for all of my substantive first-year courses, which helped me with outlining. It provided a schedule for managing my workload [and] helpful exam-taking strategies, which eliminated the need to figure out my own good strategy before beginning the actual exam preparation. Finally, it provided some assurance that I could ignore the million distractions law school offers during the first semester and focus on my schoolwork.

The study schedule set out was exactly what I needed, and something nobody else was doing. By finishing the reading early, I was able to better prepare my outlines well in advance of exams. Knowing how to brief on day one put me on the fast track to the top of my class. I am the recipient of the "Highest Grade" distinction in Law Skills, and received A,A,B+,B+.

I wanted to send a quick thank you to the Law Preview organization. I attended your class at Northwestern last summer before attending the University of San Diego. I received my first semester grades last week and landed an A- average. If I keep it up, I will be in the top ten percent of the class at the end of the year and will receive an invitation to law review. Thank you for your help in getting me there.

Law Preview helped familarize me with what to expect first year, from how professors would teach, what type of material I would learn, and how to interact well with my fellow classmates. Beginning school, I felt I had a 'head start' compared to the other students. Also, the schedule helped keep me organized throughout the semester and up to date on my work and outlines so I wasn't cramming at the end.

Gave me leg up on class. More importantly gave me enough confidence to know when I had done enough work and what the important things to focus on were.

Law Preview gave me a more piece of mind of what to expect before law school started.

Law Preview helped to reduce my apprehensions about the first year of law school. When we started classes, it was a familiar, rather than new experience and so I could concentrate on what was happening in class rather than being nervous.

USF does not publicize ranking of students beyond top 5% and they have not yet posted general rankings. I did get a 4.0, however. Law Preview provided a road map for getting through the first semester. Not only did it provide the basics in briefing, but also gave the general number of hours per week per class you should be studying, how to use supplements, when to start outlining, etc. This kept me on track throughout the semester, and I never fell behind as a result.
