I found it very helpful! I found that taking notes in law school was going to be difficult because of the round about way professors would lecture and I saw that from my week at Law Preview. Because of this I put together a great system of note taking before classes started and that ended up working for me. I combined it with the briefing template you provided. The two best things about the course were experiencing what it was going to be like to take notes in a law school class and having that briefing template and the advice from all the professors on how to brief. I was a Law Preview student at your second Loyola session last year. I ended up going to the University of Iowa Law School (Boyd Hall), and the first semester has gone exceptionally well. So, thank you for setting up such a helpful program. The people at the law school are extraordinarily bright, and after exams, I thought I was doomed. Yet I managed to scrape by with a 3.85, and was the number one scorer in both Legal Writing and Contracts; I was the tied as the number three scorer in Torts, and the number 12 scorer (out of 90) in Property (A-). After first semester I was ranked 10th in my class and I wanted to write to tell you how Law Preview contributed to my success. As a non-traditional student who left the work force to return to law school, Law Preview enabled me to start using my time productively from the very beginning of law school. Law schools are full of brilliant and hard working students. But Law Preview enabled me to start playing the game from the first day. For many of my classmates, it seemed to take at least a month for them to know enough about the law to understand the reading and class materials. Overall, the program helped me know what to expect so that I had a sense of confidence amongst the stress and overwhelming atmosphere of the first year of law school. The session on outlining and final exam tips gave me an edge on my classmates because I began outlining early in the second month of classes, which left me ample time to take practice exams and meet with professors during study period.
