[Graduation Year: All]

[Law Preview] gave me focus and clarity on how I needed to study and what I needed to study. Law Preview motivated me to work as hard as possible and it instilled in me the importance of finishing as highly ranked as possible. I finished the first semester in top 10%. Second semester I finished in the top 5% and graded onto the Law Review. I am also going to be a part of my law school's mentoring program for incoming 1 L's.

There were two great benefits from Law Preview. First, it gave me a sneak peak of all the core subject matters. I cannot stress how much that benefited me. It removed the intimidation factor and gave me a broad overview of each subject. Second, and more importantly, it gave me a plan in which to succeed. While other law students were flailing around and trying to figure out what to do, I had a clear plan that guided my actions. Law Preview told me precisely what was required to succeed (lots of hours and lots of outlining). It gave me a schedule to do those things. And this schedule was given to me by a Law Preview lawyer invitee who would not sugar-coat the demands (or rewards) of this work.

Without Law Preview I'm not sure that I'd have succeeded in law school. Law Preview got me back in the mindset of being a student after taking time away from school and working for two years. I was out of practice at studying and I wanted to take a course that would get me back in the right frame of mind. Law Preview was perfect. I re-learned all of the study skills I had forgotten, and replaced a lot of my inefficient undergraduate practices with the techniques that work at the law school level. Plus, I got a one-week jump on the most important part of law school: the case method. Nothing in undergraduate education or the work world compares to the way that law professors use the case analysis method to teach the law. Thanks to Law Preview I was a lot more comfortable working with cases; I was able to spend the first weeks of school learning the law rather than trying to orient myself. Thanks in part to what I learned at Law Preview I was able to graduate second in my class and get a Supreme Court clerkship. I can't thank Law Preview enough!

I attended Law Preview in Miami during the Summer of 2004. I just recieved my first semester grades back, and I received a 3.416. While that may not seem impressive, it is good enough for #2 in my part-time law school class. As a father, a husband, and someone who works full-time, making time for the session was difficult, but well worth it. I feel that the knowledge and habits that I was exposed to were invaluable in allowing me to hit the ground running from the beginning of school. I didn't have to worry about what it was going to be expected of me, I already knew.

Law Preview's professors are amazing! They want to teach you and are very enthusiastic that we are taking the initiative. The variety of law schools represented, the teachers, and their teaching methods were very impressive. I know I'm more prepared now than I could ever have been, and I'm so far ahead of nearly everyone in my first year classes.

Law Preview's case briefing template helped me digest every case and organize my class notes very efficiently. Additionally, Law Preview's calendar, which can be downloaded into iCal, helped me manage my studying times to stay ahead of everyone and prepare for class while also condensing the materials in preparation for finals. Law Preview helped me jump right into my first semester with two feet and gave me the confidence and reassurance that I could do well. I would encourage every serious law student to consider taking Law Preview. I'm glad I did.

I highly recommend Law Preview to anyone preparing to enter the first year of law school, whatever your personal circumstances may be. If you are just graduating from under-grad, Law Preview will help you to quickly see that Law School will be nothing like under-grad and will provide you with tips on how to hit the ground running. If you are like me and have been out of school for a few (or many!) years, Law Preview is a great way to get your feet wet again and to help build up your confidence before the school year begins. In addition, Law Preview is such a fantastic experience because you can truly see what your first year is going to be like in 6 short days. The professors are extraordinary and you will learn in one week the basics of everything you need to know to excel in your first year . . . I really enjoyed the week I spent with Law Preview but it was not until school started that I realized just how valuable an experience it was for me and it further hit home when I ended the first semester with a 3.9 GPA and ranked #1 in my class! I couldn’t have done it without Law Preview!

More than anything else, Law Preview revitalized my academic frame of mind. I had taken some time off from school before entering law school and Law Preview put the necessities of school at the forefront of my thinking. The methods of managing the workload, as well as studying for exams, helped me to organize my year from day to day.

Law Preview gave me the confidence to succeed and made me comfortable to know that I was among the best prepaired to conquer law school (along with other Law Preview alums, of course). And with the confidence to succeed, I did just that.

Helped by teaching me how to read and brief cases. Also gave a good basic overview of the classes so I didn't feel like I was hearing everything for the first time.
—Anonymous, Suffolk University Law School, Class of 2008

It definitely prepared me for the topics that I would have to face and I definitely recognized quite a bit of the material in the first month which made the experience a much easier transition as everyone knows law school is a world unto itself.

First, Law Preview basically demystified law school. I know a lot of students who came in and were just spinning their wheels the first month or two. Even worse, they were reverting back to their college mentality of "there's always tomorrow." I knew from the summer that tomorrow was something that you had to be ready for. In fact, I usually prepared for tomorrow's tomorrow. Law Preview really got me thinking about how to plan and how to prepare for the endgame, exams. Without the focus, I don't think I would have done as well as I did. Starting from the first day I had a schedule I kept to fairly strictly when I started, but then I let loose a little as I found out what my strengths and weaknesses were (work well in the morning - good to take a break in the afternoon - need some time off before bed). Law Preview helped me sort out the hours and figure out how to make it so that it would be a realistic schedule so I wouldn't burn out come November. I saw a lot of people do the opposite - skirt the stuff in September/October and then end up way behind with no time to review OR prepare properly for exams. This is a little less of a direct effect, but it also gave me some confidence in terms of being willing to make mistakes. I remember during the summer session I offered an answer to a question posed by the Contracts professor and I was dead wrong (he was nice about it). Although it was somewhat humiliating at the time, the experience prepared me to be willing to accept my errors and learn from them - it was the fact I thought through the question AND could see what was wrong with my logic that mattered more. I'm not afraid to raise my hand in class and offer an answer to a difficult question because it will either affirm my knowledge or help me understand my mistakes. It is far better to blush in class than to panic on the exam or explain to a prospective employer why you received a C in Contracts. I guess you could say Law Preview made me a little bolder.

The Law Preview overview of each of my first semester evening classes was an invaluable head start that was well worth the investment. Law Preview helped me mentally prepare for law school so that I stayed calm as I approached classes. I highly recommend Law Preview to every entering law school student.

Don, I go to Suffolk University Law School and was in the first New York session last summer. I wanted to email you because I recently got my grades from this past semester. I got 2 B's, 1 B+, and 2 A-'s. I have always been a B student and I don't think I have ever gotten two A's in one semester. Coming into law school with an organized plan of how to attack the work made all of the difference. While most of my classmates were just getting comfortable with briefing, I was beginning to outline. Law Preview gave me the tools to succeed and I owe my success this past semester to you and your staff.

I attended the Catholic University session . . . Since the conclusion of the program I have meant to write in order be yet another to let you know how wonderful the program was. The course was spectacular, and prepared me well. By attending your course prior to the start of law school, I was comforted that I had done everything possible to prepare for my new endeavor. Now that school has begun, I am using the techniques I learned. Also, as a result of my having taken your course, the first couple of weeks of school were easier for me than for most of my classmates. So many of the cases that were assigned for Law Preview classes have been assigned for school, saving me invaluable time during the first two hectic weeks. The experience of writing briefs over the summer has proven a major asset. Additionally, the professors were outstanding, offering their respective areas of expertise, as well as their willingness to be contacted throughout the year! Thank you for creating and offering such a fabulous program! Please feel free to give my name and email address to anyone who has questions about Law Preview. I highly recommend Law Preview to anyone who wants to be well prepared for the start of law school. I believe I will continue to reap the rewards of your program, and I will keep you apprised of my progress.

I am so glad I did Law Preview because I was pretty prepared when most of the other first year students were very nervous in the first few weeks of the semester. I also adhered to most of the things that were recommended by Law Preview (I followed the calendar schedule of when to start outlining, reviewing my flashcards, etc). [Ranked 14 out of 217].
—Anonymous, Syracuse University College of Law, Class of 2012

I believe that Law Preview's biggest contribution to my law school success was its ability to calm my nerves. I felt at ease entering law school, and I had a clear direction/goal of what I wanted to accomplish. I never lost sight of that, and I believe that is what put me ahead of my classmates. [#5 out of 240 students after first semester].

I attended the 2002 Summer Session in Dallas. I wanted to say thank you again for my scholarship and I wanted to keep you posted. I received my first semester grades and came out with a 3.8. I also received the highest grade in my Contracts Class. Thanks so much for your help.

The overviews are incredibly helpful. To have seen estates and future interests before your first day of class puts you well ahead of the curve. And, Jordan Steiker on Con Law was utterly amazing.

Law Preview gave me a basic understanding of what to expect in each of my classes. Law Preview helped me realize that I was going to have to work hard for my grades, but also helped me realize that if I did I would be at the top of my class. Most importantly Law Preview gave me a heads up on how to prepare for final exams. I felt like I knew what to expect from day one. It was all a matter of keeping on top of everything and practicing like Law Preview taught me.
