[Graduation Year: All]

I attended your course at NYU last August and currently attend Michigan State University. I am at the top of my class and things are looking good for Law Review. . . . The Law Preview course helped out tremendously in achieving academic success during my first year. . . . Thank you very much for your work.

The Chicago Law Preview course prepared me how to study right and stay on track during my first year. Finishing my 1L year in the top 10% of my class was something I could not have done without working hard and following the guidelines given to me in the Law Preview course. Now, going into my 2L year, I have a foundation of great grades and am confident I will be able to get the job I want after graduation.

I wanted to follow up with you about a phone conversation we had a few months ago about my transfer options from Michigan State Law. I've been accepted at Tulane and William and Mary, and waitlisted at Georgetown--my final GPA from 1L was 3.8. I'm leaning toward William and Mary, and I wanted to thank you for the invaluable advice and confidence you gave me. I hardly anticipated the personal attention I received, but I am very grateful for it! Please feel free to include this as a testimonial in any of your company's promotional materials: Law Preview rocks!

Law Preview is both a wake-up call and a road map to success in your first year of law school. I received personal attention and exposure to many of the fundamental concepts of my 1L courses. Law Preview not only prepared me to excel, it also gave me the confidence to face an otherwise daunting first year. I finished my first year in the top 10% of my class and will transfer to a higher ranked law school in the fall. Thank you, Law Preview! [Ranked #20 out of 269 students].

I felt one step ahead of my peers because of what I learned in Law Preview. It equipped me with the basic tools to succeed in my first year of law school so that I already knew how to approach cases and exams before the semester started.

I have no doubt that Law Preview was instrumental to my success during my first semester in Law School. On the very first day, I was already ahead of my classmates because I had an idea of what to expect, I had briefed cases, and I had received pointers from other people who had done very well themselves. Largely because of my decision to participate in Law Preview, I finished my first semester ranking 9th out of 208 students, receiving the highest grade in three of my courses, with a GPA of 3.80/4.00.

Law Preview was crucial to my approach to taking exams. I honestly don't know how I would have been able to tackle the exams at all without the guidance I received during the law preview class. It really gives you an inside look at a lot of the ways you should prepare for class that many other students will not know, giving you the edge you need.

Law Preview was the 'Dummies Guide to Law School' that I really needed. While the classes themselves helped give me a brief substantive overview, it was the organizational and study skills that I really appreciated. I was always prepared for class with the 2 day ahead approach but more importantly I was prepared for my exams because I had been studying all along and using the best study tools out there. Don kept telling us that everyone in our classes were going to know the exact same law going into the exam, but what was going to separate us from the rest of them was that we were going to know how to apply it because we hadn't just been memorizing. Instead, we had been learning it, working with it, and wrestling with it from week one because of all the skills and techniques we learned from Law Preview.

I can honestly say that I do not think I would be where I'm at without Law Preview's help. Not only did I have an opportunity to begin learning about basic law school concepts months before my other classmates, but I learned these concepts from highly-regarded professors from across the country. Law Preview further helped me shift my brain to "law school mode." With the cost of tuition on the rise, Law Preview served as an "insurance policy" to make sure I was heading off to law school well-prepared. I think Law Preview really helped me have a confident mindset before the semester even began; instead of drowning in a sea of homework and confusion, I have been able to navigate through the rigors of law school from Day One. I feel that I could not have done this without Law Preview.

I was in a summer session for your Law Preview course which helped me with my first semester so much. I received three As and one A- resulting in a 3.92 GPA. Thanks again for all your help and advice. I really think that it is a great and very unselfish thing to teach the Law Preview course and I wish you the best of luck with it.

I am currently ranked #11 in my class and I attribute a lot of my success to your course. I found Law Preview to be an extremely informative and educational experience. As a result of attending this program, I felt better prepared for the rigors of the first year curriculum and the competition that accompanies it. I highly recommend Law Preview to any 1L!
—Amy F., New York Law School, Class of 2003

[Law Preview] helped me realize how to pay attention to the important issues in the case and to make sure you know exactly WHY you are reading each specific case.
—Anonymous, New York Law School, Class of 2008

Law Preview gave me a fantastic jump on law school. I came in knowing exactly what I was supposed to be doing outside of class - something that, I think, took most students several weeks to figure out. I ended up in the top 10% of my class and received the highest grade in my section in Property. Law Preview was definitely a great investment.
—Jaime S., New York Law School, Class of 2008

Law Preview gave me the ability to visualize the first year unfold before it took place, it helped me focus my energies on tasks that were the most important, it allowed me to elminnate distractions that can cost the typical 1L study time and energy, and it helped me mainatin a positive mindset throughout the first-year grind. Perhaps most imporatantly, it helped me relax during the first few weeks because I knew the fundamental first year skills while my classmates spent their time in trial by fire. I knew what I expected of myself, what my goals were, and the ways to begin to achieve those goals.
—Matthew C., New York Law School, Class of 2008

After first semester I have a 3.75 and, although they do not tell us our rank, I suspect it is in the top 3%. The curve here is a b-. Also, I earned an A+ in torts.
—Anonymous, New York Law School, Class of 2009

I definately let me hit the ground running. From a strategic standpoint, knowing when to start preparing for finals and how to go about it set me apart from my class. My essays were written very clearly and the ideas I expressed were what the professor expected and more because of how I handled the entire semester and not the last 3 weeks as my colleagues did.
—Stuart B., New York Law School, Class of 2009

Law preview was a great head start for acclimating to the daily assignments and in particular briefing cases. I also found the handouts useful during the semester as I tried to stay organized and prepare for exams. . . . I had to take a week off from work to attend Law Preview so the cost to attend in my case was far more than the tuition. This begs the questions, was it worth it? The answer is, "yes, absolutely." I would take the Law Preview Course if I had to do it over again and I would recommend it to other students preparing to enter law school.
—Scott T., New York Law School, Class of 2009
|
My school did not rank after the first semester.; however, I had a 3.85 GPA, which should place me inside the top 10% and I am pre-affiliated with the Honors and Law Review programs. The most important thing that Law Preview helped me with was giving me confidence as I entered law school. Confidence is very importance, although I have come to realize having some fear and humility is also very important. By exposing me to materials and a style of work/studying that I had never before experienced, I was able to avoid becoming overwhelmed and get to work on my classes right away.
—Anonymous, New York Law School, Class of 2010

Law Preview helped me feel comfortable going into school. I knew the tasks that were ahead of me and how best to handle them. I understood how to brief, how to organize a study schedule, and some of the basic premises of core courses that allowed me to be able to focus my studying and class preparation more efficiently. Furthermore, Law Preview simply provides students with confidence which, especially during the first semester, is lacking because no feedback is received (except in Legal Writing) until January. I do not know my current class rank because my school does not rank after the first semester, but I finished with a 3.69 and Law Preview played a large role in my first semester success.
