I attended the Law Preview session in Austin. I was just writing to let you know how I did the first semester. I attend the University of Houston Law Center, and I received all A's my first semester and am ranked #1 out of 266 students. Law Preview gave me the right mindset entering into law school, and I feel the class was a big part of my success. Not only did it help me succeed grades wise, but the class also gave me a sense of excitement to attend U of H, as there were 3 professors from the school who lectured at Law Preview, and I enjoyed all three!

—Shaun C., University of Houston Law Center, Class of 2013

[Law Schools: All] [Graduation Year: All]

I knew that my LSAT score of 153 was not indicative of my potential in law school and Law Preview helped me reach that potential. Law Preview opened my eyes to the specific challenges I would face in law school and gave me expert advice on how to handle them. I earned the highest grade in my Torts class and made the Dean's List my first semester. This success helped me gain a summer internship with a United States District Court Judge. Law Preview certainly gave me an advantage over the rest of my classmates because I knew how to study efficiently and effectively before I started school.

—Anonymous, John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2008

I'm ranked #1 in my class and I recommend Law Preview to anyone entering their first year of law school -- especially if, like me, you have been out of school for a few years. Law Preview helped me approach my first year of law school with confidence. Unlike the rest of my class, I knew what law school classes were like, and more importantly, I knew what professor's expected on exams. Law school requires a completely different type of studying than what I expected from my undergraduate days. As a part-time night student, there is no way I could have spent the time to figure out the nuances of law school without Law Preview, which spells it all out for you. . . . Further, the professor's who teach the Law Preview classes are excellent. In one week Law Preview teaches the basics of all the standard first year classes. And trust me, the overview you will have makes studying them a lot easier in the school year. My performance is a living testimonial to Law Preview's effectiveness. In my first year, I received grades of A or A+ in every subject, except my first semester writing course and I missed the Law Preview session on that!

You guys are the best! Here is an update for you: After first semester, my GPA is 3.67, and I am ranked #17 out of 314 (top 5.5%) at John Marshall Law School in Chicago. Not only that, but my Torts professor selected one of my finals essays to put on file in the school library (anonymously, of course) as an example of a good student answer. So I'm officially a published writer, if only anonymously! Your class here last summer was one of the reasons for my success. Thanks a million!

—Bonny B., John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2006

After first semester in law school I had a 3.6 GPA. I am so glad I took the Law Preview Course. I was ahead of everyone in my class right from the get go. . . .

—Tony L., John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2004

Law Preview paved the way for my success in law school. I earned a spot on Law Review, and I clerked for a Federal District Court Judge my 1L summer. Now that I have finished fall recruiting and have accepted an offer to work for a firm next summer, I realize even more how crucial my success was durning the first year. Thanks Law Preview!

—William E., John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2008

Law Preview emphasized the importance of self-discipline, and I followed the study schedule religiously.

—Sommer D., John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2009

From the very start of the course, Law Preview allayed the fears and anxiety I had about entering my first year of law school. Even on my first day of classes I recognized the advantage I had gained over my classmates who had not attended Law Preview. The substantive course overviews gave me enough understanding of my first year courses that I was able to immediately participate in class discussions and understand the materials my professors introduced. (Not to mention the opportunity Law Preview afforded me to interact with some of the best professors in their respective fields.) The most influential parts of my Law Preview experience were the portions of the course on case briefing, course outlines, exam taking, and other techniques for success in law school. Without that information I would have spent weeks (like many of my classmates) attempting to develop those skills instead of focusing on the important substantive materials. Law Preview delivers everything it promises. After my first year of school I graded onto Law Review, I have the option to participate in any of the honors councils at my school, and I recieved a research assistantship with one of my professors. I genuinely believe that Law Preview is one of the biggest reasons I am in the position I am today and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone preparing for their first year of law school.

—Benjamin R., John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2009

Law Preview emphasized the need for self-discipline. I followed the study schedule, and I am ranked #19 in my class of 321.

—Anonymous, John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2009

It gave me a plan of attack on the first year of law school and because I had the plan of attack on the first day of school I had a great deal of confidence walking into each class. My confidence only became stronger each day as I incorporated what I learned from Law Preview with my way of learning.

—Anonymous, John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2009

Law Preview gave me insight into the what was going to happen during my first year. I knew what to expect when I got to school, so I was not nervous or lost about what was going on around me, as most of the other 1L's were. I was able to get ahead and stay ahead because of the suggested calendar and study advice that I got from Law Preview. The program definitely gave me the tools I needed to succeed in law school.

—Karl M., John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2009

Law Preview gave an invaluable introduction to the substantive law of all my 1L courses. I referenced my notes from that week multiple times throughout the semester. I could approach many of the more complex concepts with confidence because I had seen them before, while many of my peers were reeling. Law school is enough of a baptism by fire anyway. Law Preview gave me a leg up from the first day.

—Anonymous, John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2010

I thought it did come in handy, I was prepared to understand what a brief was, and while I changed it a bit to suit my own style and the professors recommendations, I wasn't completely in the dark like some people.

—Luke W., John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2012

Law Preview gave me a realistic idea of how much work would be required to achieve high grades in law school. I found the introduction to the first-year course work to be extremely beneficial and found myself ahead of some colleagues who did not experience Law Preview.

—Carrie D., John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2012

Your class helped me feel prepared for my first semester. Thanks a million

—Emmet P., John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2013

Law Preview gave me the tools and structure needed to confidently attack the first semester of law school successfully. While my colleagues were getting their feet wet and struggling with basic requirements of law school that seem incredibly daunting without a sense of what needs to be accomplished, Law Preview gave me the relevant goals so that I could guide my study time more effectively. I have no doubt that law preview was a huge part of my first semester success, a 4.003 gpa, and continue to use the skills that Law Preview has taught me every single day I'm in class or the library. When I feel anxious, I consult the Law Preview guides or my notes from the seminar and am, if not entirely relieved (it's still law school), confident in the fact that my experience is common and reasonable. That allows me to put the worrying out of my mind so I can get back to studying effectively. It is not just a bag of gimmicks or tricks, Law Preview teaches effective study habits unlike those used in undergrad, and methods of breaking down information that provide a deeper and more thorough understanding of the material. There's no single thing that is going to get a person through law school, but having a fundamental understanding of what to expect and skills to absorb material more effectively is an invaluable asset, and one that cannot be fully appreciated until your grades come back. Quite simply the most important course I've taken in my legal education is Law Preview.

—John S., John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2014

It helped mentally prepare me for the challenge ahead. It gave me a brief preview of the courses but what really helped was emphasis on the amount of hours that needed to be put in each week. Law Preview got my head in the game.

—Anonymous, John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2014

I had been out of school for 4 years when I decided to go to law school, and I was at 5 years out when school actually started. Aside from the LSAT I had not really studied, or used my brain in an academic setting since undergrad. At first I was skeptical when I received info in the mail form Law Preview, after all I was an excellent student so how much help could I really need. The more I thought about it, however, the more I realized that I could use a refresher. As it turned out, Law Preview was the best thing I could have done to prepare for law school. I was a biology major in undergrad, and law school is a whole other world. Maybe there are some undergrad majors that can make the switch to the thought/writing/study style and requirements easily, but I doubt it. There are some books out there that attempt to give you an overview of what to expect, but I can attest that they do not do the job that Law Preview does. I KNOW that I had an advantage over my peers, and it was money well spent

—John S., Lewis and Clark Law School, Class of 2010

I felt more prepared for the work load than my classmates. I was working hard from day one, and by sticking to the Law Preview semester calendar, I was always ahead and finished my outlines by Thanksgiving weekend -- giving me two full weeks to do practice exams, while others were just catching up. Furthermore, the Law Preview overview of each class helped me see the "forest for the trees" when I was swimming in rules, factors, case law and policy arguments. Most of all, Law Preview gave me confidence going into exams that put my mind at ease and allowed me to relax and focus. . . . I also enjoyed getting the alumni email updates with questions from students throughout the semester -- they ensured I was on track, and most of the questions were very relevant and applicable to my experience. . . . Law Preview helped protect my significant investment in law school. In this economy, I knew I needed every advantage I could get, and Law Preview was worth every penny. [Ranked #15 out of 220 students after first semester].

—Anonymous, Lewis and Clark Law School, Class of 2014

I felt more prepared than many of my fellow students in the importance of outlining, keeping up with classwork daily, and how to manage my time. I also felt as if the test-taking skills I learned through Law Preview made a substantial impact on my performance on law school tests. While nothing can fully prepare you for the academic rigor and of law school, Law Preview definitely assisted in making my first semester of law school more manageable, less stressful, and gave me the confidence I needed to face the competition amongst my peers and the challenges that law school brought.

—Amy D., Liberty University School of Law, Class of 2012

I had a very successful first semester and achieved many of the goals I set for myself. . .Law Preview gave me a jump-start on law school. I was able to experiment with different approaches to note taking, learn how best to prepare for class, and discover the role I would be comfortable taking in class. When fall semester started I had a plan and I was able to fall into a routine much faster – thanks to Law Preview. The greatest thing I took from Law Preview was an understanding that law school is very personal and a key to success is finding your own approach to studying and sticking to it. There always seems to be more work you can do and a feeling that you’re not doing enough. Law Preview increased my confidence and more importantly opened my eyes to what law school was about. I really think Law Preview made the difference between surviving my first year and excelling at it.
