[Law Schools: All] [Graduation Year: All]

I thought it did come in handy, I was prepared to understand what a brief was, and while I changed it a bit to suit my own style and the professors recommendations, I wasn't completely in the dark like some people.

—Luke W., John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2012

Law Preview gave me a realistic idea of how much work would be required to achieve high grades in law school. I found the introduction to the first-year course work to be extremely beneficial and found myself ahead of some colleagues who did not experience Law Preview.

—Carrie D., John Marshall Law School—Chicago, Class of 2012

I had been out of school for 4 years when I decided to go to law school, and I was at 5 years out when school actually started. Aside from the LSAT I had not really studied, or used my brain in an academic setting since undergrad. At first I was skeptical when I received info in the mail form Law Preview, after all I was an excellent student so how much help could I really need. The more I thought about it, however, the more I realized that I could use a refresher. As it turned out, Law Preview was the best thing I could have done to prepare for law school. I was a biology major in undergrad, and law school is a whole other world. Maybe there are some undergrad majors that can make the switch to the thought/writing/study style and requirements easily, but I doubt it. There are some books out there that attempt to give you an overview of what to expect, but I can attest that they do not do the job that Law Preview does. I KNOW that I had an advantage over my peers, and it was money well spent

—John S., Lewis and Clark Law School, Class of 2010

I felt more prepared than many of my fellow students in the importance of outlining, keeping up with classwork daily, and how to manage my time. I also felt as if the test-taking skills I learned through Law Preview made a substantial impact on my performance on law school tests. While nothing can fully prepare you for the academic rigor and of law school, Law Preview definitely assisted in making my first semester of law school more manageable, less stressful, and gave me the confidence I needed to face the competition amongst my peers and the challenges that law school brought.

—Amy D., Liberty University School of Law, Class of 2012

I had a very successful first semester and achieved many of the goals I set for myself. . .Law Preview gave me a jump-start on law school. I was able to experiment with different approaches to note taking, learn how best to prepare for class, and discover the role I would be comfortable taking in class. When fall semester started I had a plan and I was able to fall into a routine much faster – thanks to Law Preview. The greatest thing I took from Law Preview was an understanding that law school is very personal and a key to success is finding your own approach to studying and sticking to it. There always seems to be more work you can do and a feeling that you’re not doing enough. Law Preview increased my confidence and more importantly opened my eyes to what law school was about. I really think Law Preview made the difference between surviving my first year and excelling at it.

—Jenny P., Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville, Class of 2004

Law Preview helped prepare me for the general topics that I would encounter as a 1L. It started me off at school knowing how to brief a case, staying ahead in work, and being prepared to participate in classes. Because I followed the suggested calendar, when reading period came around I was studying my outlines, rather than trying to scrape them together.

—Anonymous, Loyola Law School, Class of 2010

I just wanted to thank you guys for the program - as an evening student I was already extremely nervous to tackle classes on top of everything else in life, but I went into my first year focused, ready to analyze and brief cases in a way that I wouldn't have figured out on my own until halfway through the year. A good chunk of cases we read was stuff we'd already covered during the program! Following that great calendar that was sent out to us, I outlined early and was taking practice tests when everyone else was just starting to prepare to outline . . . and now at the end of my first year, I've got a 4.09 GPA and I'm ranked first in my class. You turned a difficult journey into a smooth one and I wanted to thank you!

—Anonymous, Loyola Law School, Class of 2011

Definitely took the edge away. Law Preview helps you to understand the substantive law, but that is not truly its purpose. I feel like it takes the anxiety and the struggle away from the first year of law school. [Ranked top 10% after first semester].

—Anonymous, Loyola Law School, Class of 2012

Law Preview gave me the jump start I needed so that i didn't wasted time trying to "figure out" law school. I walked into class the first day and was miles ahead of my classmates. I was focused on learning from the first moment, not worrying about how to brief a case or wonder what was important. The supplements provided in class also gave me the boost I needed to supplement the text book. Thanks Law Preview! The BEST money I've spent on my education =) I'll recommend you to ALL future law students!

—Ashleigh K., Loyola Law School, Class of 2011

Law Preview made me feel confident about going into my first semester. Following the schedule was very helpful and it also helped keep the whole experience in perspective.

—Anonymous, Loyola University Chicago School of Law, Class of 2009

By knowing what the terms meant in property, before they were taught, I was reviewing instead of struggling to learn the material along with the other students. I couldn't have done that without Law Preview. Also, just by knowing how to brief cases and outline, it gave me a heads-up that the other students didn't have, and in law school, every advantage counts.

—Lori S., Loyola University Chicago School of Law, Class of 2009

Law Preview told me what I need to do to succeed. It was a long, tough road, but sticking to a set plan, mainly devised by Law Preview, I did extremely well. Thanks to Law Preview, I am ranked in the top 6% and made it on to Law Journal. Because of my first year success I am currently looking at top firms to interview with in the Fall as part of OCI. Law Preview gave me that extra edge I needed to get to where I am.

—Anonymous, Loyola University Chicago School of Law, Class of 2009

I felt I was definitely more prepared at the beginning of the semester when a lot of people wondered what a case brief was and what IRAC stood for whereas I could focus on the substantive courses because Law Preview taught me how to approach briefing and exam taking. The exam-taking strategies and advice from the professors were especially helpful. It's like I knew what it took to get an 'A". Thank you [ranked #15 out of 166 after first semester].

—Anonymous, Loyola University Chicago School of Law, Class of 2011

It allowed me to be prepared on the amount of time that I would have to invest into preparing for class and studying for exams. The most valuable tool it gave me was the time management information (ie how long to study each day, when to start outlining, and when to start really studying for exams). Also, it was very useful to know how to read a case and brief it before starting law school.

—Anonymous, Loyola University—New Orleans, School of Law, Class of 2008

[Law Preview] provided insight into how to prep. for class (i.e. brief cases) and format of exams. [It] also, provided helpful insight into the layout of the semester, and how I should organize my schedule to be ready for exams at the end of the semester.

—Anonymous, Loyola University—New Orleans, School of Law, Class of 2008

Law Preview made me feel more at ease going into the horrible world of law school. . . . I received an honors grade and was in the top 13% of the class. Thanks LP!

—Anonymous, Marquette University Law School, Class of 2009

Not only did Law Preview ease the transition into law school, but it was a continuous online friend to help me get through the entire first year with just the right amount of emails to keep me motivated and on track. The exam tips were extremely useful and I incorporated the advice into several of my exams. Thanks to what I learned from Law Preview, at the end of my first year I was in the top 20% of my class and on the Dean's List.

—Anonymous, Marquette University Law School, Class of 2009

It was very helpful to know in advance what means of study would work and which alternative methods have less chance of succeeding. A lot of classmates had to try the other avenues for themselves (to their detriment) - while I had someone give me the recipe ahead of time. The key skill-set we learned at Law Preview was setting a work schedule that was demanding yet realistic at the same time. Many of my peers simply got lost in the overwhelming workload. Also, Don framed the bigger picture of law school and the entry into the legal profession. That was motivating on the one hand while it also served as warning.

—Valentin L., Mercer University—Walter F. George School of Law, Class of 2010

It was good coming into law school with an idea of what to expect. Aside from being familiar with some of the substantive material covered in class first semester, it was helpful knowing what to expect from the law school experience. There were multiple occasions during the semester when I found myself looking back on the notes I had taken at law preview for clarification on different things. All in all Law Preview was a great experience [ranked #25 out of 144 after first semester].

—Anonymous, Mercer University—Walter F. George School of Law, Class of 2011

Law Preview gave me the foundation I needed to attack the law school challenge at its onset. It was very refreshing to read cases that I had already read before or to hear terms in class that I already knew. I followed much of Law Preview's advice as far as staying on top of things and continuing daily class preparation. I ended up in the top 15% of my class, and I am very happy about how things turned out. I will continue to use the lessons Law Preview taught me in the upcoming semester, and I am hopeful for an equally satisfying second semester.
